Nicky’s advice on Caring For and Cleaning Your Ugg Boots

Ugg boots are made from real sheepskin, which is naturally resistant to small amounts of water. If you avoid wading through deep puddles or walking through snow, your ugg boots will last you a vey long time. It is always a good idea to give your ugg boots an occasional gentle brushing with a soft cloth or a suede or nubuck brush. This will get rid of the small amounts of dirt that might have attached to the boot during the course of wear. Brush your boots in one direction only When not wearing your ugg boots, keep them in a dry place, much as you would with any shoe, they will air out on their own.

The reason ugg boots look and feel great is the real sheepskin used to make each pair. Sheepskin is a material that should be cleaned very gently. Ugg boots should never be put in a washing machine or a dryer. Hand wash your ugg boots in warm water, only using an approved wool detergent. You can use a soft brush for removing dirt. To dry, place your uggs in the shade, away from heat or direct sunlight and allow drying out slowly to retain the soft, supple finish. Be careful as sheepskin can shrink slightly after drying, but they will be fine after just a few wears. Once the boot is dry, remember to lightly brush the cleaned area with a suede or nubuck brush. Brush in one direction only.
